BRANDON FREIN.
Wardrobe stylist? Sure.
All-around fashion hustler? That sounds more like it.
To say she wears many hats seems spot-on, but if you know anything about Brandon, it’s shoes… she wears many shoes.
“B,” as she’s affectionately known across fashion and social circles alike, is your fashion MVP. She’s your lead stylist for commercial and editorial projects, a style contributor both on and off camera, an adjunct professor of fashion styling, a fashion consultant, and a costumer too. And in case your talent is a no-show, Brandon is also an agency-signed model.
What began as a passion for dancing and acting (ask her about that time she was on The Tonight Show! ), evolved into a budding career in fashion back when Brandon pivoted to retail. She grew from pushing Naturalizers to selling Louis Vuitton Neverfulls. Next she turned her eye to the digital marketplace, and co-founded the online fashion destination TwentyThirtyForty. This paved the way for her full-time styling career, where she has successfully built her brand for over 20 years and has cemented her status as an industry fixture.
Brandon’s been the styling vision behind clients ranging from Adidas to Ziploc. Harpers Bazaar, Paper Magazine, Bullett and Vogue.it have all published her editorial work. Plus, her commercial work has been featured in the pages of InStyle and Marie Claire among others. She’s also been a trusted source of personal styling by public figures including Canada’s First Lady Margaret Trudeau, Musician Natalie Bergman, Domino Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Jessica Rom Perez and more. With her theater background, it’s no surprise that Brandon’s been the perfect fit for costuming period documentaries, TV pilots, and the infamous Soho House Halloween party. When she’s not on set, she’s sharing her expertise in the classroom, teaching at Columbia College Chicago.
When you work with Brandon, you get the full package. Jill Dugan, a longtime client has said: “Brandon is a delight to work with. It’s impossible not to get energized around her vivacious personality!
Her signature grey streak of hair – always offset by a pair of distinctive frames – is punctuated by her cheery energy. With both a sense of style and personality that reach across generations, it’s no wonder Brandon has achieved longevity. She brings the same intention to her styling as she does to her relationships. It’s these genuine connections that account for her always evolving, coast-to-coast network of designers, showrooms, stores and industry contacts. And, when she’s not pulling from one of these resources, she turns to her own drool-worthy personal wardrobe,
It only takes a glance to tell that Brandon’s connection to style is a deeply rooted, emotional one. Whether she’s developing a client’s personal style or creating a character, she finds continued motivation in clothing’s ability to tell a story and change how people feel about themselves.
